Crochet Mareep

Mareep is done!

Of course I am still working with this stupid DS camera, so none of my pictures are turning out great... I have been doing what I can though. Hopefully the quality doesn't deface this guy's adorableness.

I've said it before, and I will say it again, Mareep is one of those Pokemon that just BELONG in plush form. He was actually one of my favorite Pokemon to come out of Johto. Who my favorite was, I have no idea, but I do have a notebook with a ton of Mareep drawn on them from Mr. Uplinger's 4th grade class (yes, I have notebooks from that long ago....Lemme alone). I can thus assume that this sheepy is up there on the Gen 2 list.

He really wasn't as difficult as a lot of people made him out to be. There were just a lot of pieces, and plushes like this often threaten such boredom that I halt the project for a while. Luckily, this wasn't the case for Mareep. Trying to hold everything in place while sewing was a pain in the neck, since sewing circles together cleanly is a daunting task alone; but, it wasn't very dissuading overall as a project. The result from 12 hours of labor is this 21.5 inch long huggable electric Pokemon. Mareep is a stout looking Pokemon, so his 6-7 inch height may seem "small" but he is a hefty boy. The child this is for should have no problem hugging him. While he technically is done, I want to make sure that he will last, since he is a child's playmate. I will be looking everything over and reinforcing stitches, so that Mareep is a lasting member on his team.

I will be sad to see him go, but--- everybody needs a Mareep Sheep in their life.
